Holloway Family Dave Holloway: Vice President for Extension Ministries Dave has been involved in camp and retreat ministries for over 31 years. He is a teacher, disciple maker, carpenter, scuba pro, ski patroller, mission trip leader, husband, father, and grandfather with decades of leadership under his belt. A 1981 graduate of Tennessee Temple University, he has served at Alpine since 2002. Dave loves seeing young lives changed through camp ministry and counselors grow in their relationships with the Lord. Life Verse: Philippians 4:19

Ruth Knicely Ruth Knicely: Director of Alpine Retreats
At the age of 12, while attending a church camp, Ruth dedicated her life to serving the Lord. But it wasn’t until college that she developed an interest in -- and eventual love for -- camp ministry. Ruth began her service at Alpine during her college years, serving as a summer camp counselor. Since 1982 she has served in a variety of capacities, from dining room hostess to equipment truck driver -- and nearly everything in between. She has served as the Director of Retreats since 2003. Ruth is a 1986 graduate of Appalachian Bible College. Ruth is pictured with her friend and future replacement, Anna. Life Verse: I Samuel 12:24

Bartons Tim Barton: Co-Director of Alpine Adventures/ River Manager
Tim Barton graduated from ABC in 1989 with a Th.B. in Pastoral, Family Counseling & Youth Ministries. He began guiding for Alpine in 1985. He has had training in swiftwater rescue through the NPS, ACC, PRGA and others. He has over 25 years experience in guiding and throughout his career he has trained approximately 200 guides. One of the greatest blessings in his ministry is how God has allowed his family to be involved. His wife Renee has been a help to him and to Alpine in many ways. Tim & Renee have 3 children Jimmy, Carissa and Micah. They all have been a help as trip leaders, guides and facilitators in all activities. Tim enjoys seeing guides develop in leadership skills and mature both physically and spiritually. He also enjoys seeing the same youth pastors and group leaders bring different young people year after year challenging them to grow in Christ. Life Verse: James 3:13

Sharp Family John Sharp: Co-Director of Alpine Adventures
John Sharp graduated from Appalachian Bible College with a Th. B. in Pastoral and Youth Ministries. He began serving at ABC full time in 2004 with responsibilities as the Dean of Men, Soccer Coach and Alpine Adventures Assistant. John desires to point people toward a closer walk with the Lord through God’s Word and personal interaction. Camp ministry has played a major role in his spiritual development, which ignites his passion to be used at Alpine Ministries. He became the Co-Director of Alpine Adventures in 2015. John and his wife, Lee Ann (a 2006 ABC grad and former camp counselor and summer worker at Alpine), have two sons, Levi and Josiah. They love spending time together, often in outdoor activities such as soccer, hiking, hunting and fishing. Life Verse: 1 Corinthians 15:58

Braden Stone Braden Stone: Alpine Bible Camp Program Director,
Director of Outdoor Education

Braden graduated from Appalachian Bible college in 2011 with a BA in Bible Theology/ Missions Language. He began counseling at Alpine in 2008 and served in different capacities of the Bible Camp staff until the summer of 2011, after which he began work in a manufacturing plant and became the Youth Director of a local church. During his time at camp he met JJ whom he would later marry in June of 2013. Braden has a passion for young people and developing in them a love for the Lord and for his creation. He's convinced that camp is a wonderful place to have that type of spiritual impact. He enjoys soccer, hunting, camping, and playing Legos, which his wife lovingly puts up with. Jonathan Lorch Jonathan Lorch: Adventure Assistant
After graduating from Appalachian Bible College in 2013 with a double major in Bible/Theology and Camping Ministry, Jonathan married his wife, Alaina, and they began traveling as Admissions Representatives for ABC. During those 3 years of travel Jonathan continued to grow in his love for camp ministry as he served with Alpine during the summer months. He now works for Alpine full-time and he loves the opportunities that Adventure trips offer to share about the Lord and enjoy God’s creation. Jonathan also serves as the men’s soccer coach for ABC. On the side he enjoys running, hunting, and other outdoor recreation. Life Verse: Colossians 3:23-24


Emily Rogers Emily Rogers: Administrative Assistant to the Vice President for Extension Ministries
Emily graduated from Appalachian Bible College in 2016 with a BA in Bible/Theology and Youth & Family Ministries with a concentration in Biblical Counseling. Her love for camp began when she was 11 years old and experienced her first life-changing week as a camper. She found camp to be an amazing place to build relationships, both with others and with God Himself. At age 16 she began working operations staff at a camp and eventually transitioned to serving as an adventure guide for Alpine in 2016. After her second summer leading rappelling, cave trips, and other activities, Emily accepted the position of Administrative Assistant to the Vice President for Extension Ministries. She is excited for the opportunities this position provides her to minister to groups and individuals as they come to Alpine for camps and retreats. Life Verse: Psalm 73:28
