Dr. Jonathan Rinker was born and raised near Chicago. He and his wife Sarah met as students at Appalachian Bible and were married in 1999. They both have a passion to serve Christ’s Church by training servants in gospel ministry. For the past 20 years they have served at Appalachian Bible College and in a local church where Jon is the pastor. Their two daughters are students at ABC and their two sons are in high school. In addition to a B.A. from ABC, Jon received the M.Div. from Virginia Beach Theological Seminary and the Ph.D. in N.T. from Baptist Bible Seminary. He is currently the Chair of the Bible/Theology department at ABC. Outside the great joy of proclaiming God’s word, his hobbies include travel, eating, old barns and timber-framing, old tractors, hunting and fishing.
